I am on the scrounge for @worldbookdayuk.bsky.social books! @hotkeybooks.bsky.social @harpercollins.bsky.social @barringtonstoke.bsky.social as suppliers out of stock! My cohort of secondary students, myself will be forever grateful. Can anyone point me in the right direction? #libraryhelp

Libraries are also often a lifeline for children who struggle at school. I doubt my (undiagnosed until she was 16) autistic daughter would have got through secondary school if it weren't for the kindness of the librarians, who appointed her a junior librarian and gave her a refuge.
Every single school should have a school library & a school librarian, to help every single child find the books that will make them readers, and give them all the lifelong benefits of literacy. Libraries & librarians change children's lives FOREVER! #SchoolLibrarianDay #SchoolLibraryMonth

In case you want some sweet news today.

I’m volunteering at the book fair at my kid’s school, and discovered Dav Pilkey paid for the whole thing.

For the entire school.

Every kid pre-k through fifth grade (the whole school) goes home with two free books.

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office.

Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc.

Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Deactivated my "other" account finally. So sad as I had met some really nice bookish people on that platform!
Hope to do the same here!

Children's book mystery! My brother read a book around 30 years ago about 2 Viking children sold into slavery by their Uncle & end up in China! I'd love to get it for his birthday! Please share if you can!
