Eldest and youngest family members. Their communication started with expression and touch. Mum has dementia and Ruby is a toddler. They live together and have the most wonderful relationship. Ruby is now able to help and she knows exactly what to do. The love they have for each other is amazing.

What do people do when someone dies? Mostly panic. What to say. What to do. What to bring. Should I even visit them? I might write a book called the Awkward Book of Grief. I say bring food. Bring wine. Walk dogs. Talk openly and look for signs. You soon know if it’s OK. No right or wrong answers.

I have a friend Louise and I saw her mum at the doctors yesterday. I said hi how are you and she said “I getting noodles for Louise” not what I expected so I repeated it back to her and she said no Jude I’m getting needles in my knees 😂

Happy Christmas to everyone. Special loves to all those working and especially those providing essential medical care. All the shop workers and those who deliver our parcels. Those without families, those bereaved and those who struggle with life. There is love and kindness out there ❤️🥰🎁🎄🌟

I’m not prepared to allow all the negative news to take over my happiness. The reality is the news is made so big it seems like 90% of reality. The real reality is that 90% of life is good but the 10% that is difficult is so dark it steals the light.

Wide awake in my hotel. Got a little pack of seeds from M&S. looks like bird seed but surprisingly tasty. Along with a banana and a hot drink I’ll hopefully be back to sleep shortly 😴
