Shostakovich! Elgar! Rachmaninoff! Cannot wait for the Elgar cello concerto, a favourite since I was 15. The Halle 25/26 season is looking very tasty.

Liberal politicians if you are so disturbed just pretend Charlie Kirk was a Palestinian child and you’ll get over it in no time

Got recommended an entire playlist on Spotify of pure AI slop. Honestly frustrating how much this garbage is polluting the world. Minimal profiles, a few hundred thousand listens each, 2-minute tracks, all published by the same few names.

Time to get away from Spotify if this is what's coming.

At this point just accept it: human rights aren't real, international law is a farce. Whatever rights or privileges we've been given are just as easily revoked. The only justice is that which we make, and the powers that be will stop at nothing to unmake it.

Maruja's newest release Saoirse is shaping up to be my album of the year.

"It's our differences that make us beautiful, wipe my ego, let my love grow, keep me humble" - so many great lines. Excellent tracks. So happy to see this kind of talent coming out of Manchester.

Baffling that people in power are so out of touch. How hard could it be to talk to someone who knows anything about the internet, to realise that censorship like this isn't going to stop kids from finding what they want to see.

Absolutely dystopian juxtaposition from the Guardian front page. Difficult to understand how anyone of decency and conscience can defend this government at this point. Just sheer moral degeneracy to arm a state that does this and arrest people for objecting. Wtf are we doing as a country?

'But it is not enough to simply KNOW. The deeper-burning
Delight is to understand the very heart of the great universe,
To discern how it sires and sways the lives of all ‘neath its signs,
And to lay this out in verse, with Apollo tempering my tune.’

There is already a nuclear-armed country in the Middle East that does not allow international inspectors despite having nukes for decades - and it’s not Iran.

Israel is also one of a handful of countries to have never signed the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.

Starmer u-turning on winter fuel payments is good, but still. Inflicting needless suffering on elderly people and not even having the spine to stand by your decisions. Pathetic leadership. He must want to lose the next GE right?

I think about this man from the 19th century a lot, from Whitman's "I sing the body electric". Who was he, to make Whitman feel this way? What did he know, what made him the man he was? Are there people like this still out there, even in this world?
