Now celebrating its 17th anniversary

Homesick is still a solid album

ADTR is a band I don't spin often anymore, but when I put this on I sing along
Released OTD in 2009, and later on this Special Edition

ADTR's Homesick was a standout of the genre/scene at the time

The album still kicks, but the band seems to have lost steam over the years - never topping this as their best release (IMO)

So because he won the presidency, he basically gets a get out of jail card

But despite winning the presidency, he has grounds for damages and public embarrassment

Each time there's a headline about the ridiculous thing the president posted to the social media platform he owns (Truth Social), I'm reminded that he founded it because he was booted off Twitter after inciting a failed coup.

Every time.

Great video on the state of AI and how it's exasperating issues smart phones were already causing.

To quote myself, I don't like AI - "I prefer authentic intelligence."

Celebrated Jack's Mannequin 'Everything in Transit's 20th anniversary by taking a drive with the top down.

Unintentional transit pun/activity

The album feels kind of like someone running away; from life moving too fast, a relationship, from illness

It felt right to go for a spin and sing

I just so happened to have the self titled Wilco album out from the library

Great, under appreciated album in their catalog

Such favorites as Bull Black Nova, You Never Know, I'll Fight

But the standout is You and I, which I was introduced to as the closing song to the Netflix TV show Love.

Obligatory 'the world has bigger fish to fry' preface, but

Perhaps the reason infrastructure is crappy in the US is because people misuse it.

Yes, I'm referring to the person ordering 3 meals and then some in the Dunkin drive thru

Order ahead or go inside, pal

This weekend marked the 20th anniversary of @falloutboy.bsky.social 's From Under the Cork Tree

I am late to this album and the band overall. I never gave them a proper chance until my wife brought me on board. They were always my sister's band, and for that reason it was sacrilege for me to listen

Cory Booker breaks the record for the longest speech on the Senate floor

A record previously held by Strom Thurmond, in a filibuster of the Civil Rights Act of 1957.

Sounds like a long time ago, right?

Thurmond's successor in the Senate is current US Senator Lindsey Graham

OTD 2023

@falloutboy.bsky.social 's return to form album So Much (for) Stardust

I think the predecessor Mania got a bad wrap, the album was tight and you could hear their voice at it's core.

SM(f)S is a familiar sound that they clearly thrive at, but it's not a complete reversal.

Just a fair warning, a lot of people are going to misunderstand Star Wars in a few weeks when Andor S2 comes out

It'll sound something like "I miss when star wars wasn't political"

OTD 2016: Pinegrove Cardinal

This album was huge for me, it was on constant repeat thru 2016 and it really opened my eyes to folk music.

A coworker introduced me to the band after they snuck into their show in Boston and, to quote their review "they killed it"

A fantastic combo of folk and emo

Released OTD in 2017, Andrew McMahon's 2nd 'solo' album

Honestly, I like the s/t debut prior to this

That's the great thing about owning physical media, spend more time with it and it grows on you. I admire it for going out of the box compared to anything else he'd put out yet

Fav track: So Close

Released OTD in 1993

Dinosaur jr's 'Where You Been'

Probably their most popular album, if not 2nd to 94s 'Without a Sound'

This period of the band saw J Mascis have total creative control of the band as he wrote, recorded, and produced nearly everything on the record

Something that keeps me grounded in the recent doomsday level news is the absolute fact that Elon&DT will have a huge falling out in the not too distant future and he'll become irrelevant.

Should we start a nation-wide pool of when that will be?
