NEW: ALA salutes Dr Carla Hayden for her exceptional service to the nation as the Librarian of Congress. We are deeply disappointed in Dr Hayden's abrupt & unjust dismissal last night, an insult to the scope & breadth of her work.

Congress has begun planning for next year's budget, and they NEED to hear from library supporters like YOU. Tell your Rep to #FundLibraries: bit.ly/FundLibraries26House

While courts deliberate on the future of IMLS & federal support for libraries, we MUST ensure the agency has sustained funding.

This continues our ongoing legal action to save federal library funding.

Our goal is to immediately halt the dismantling of the Institute of Museum & Library Services. 1/3
