I think the main driver of the Trump era is that now we point out the way things were quietly broken and, instead of fixing them, we just stop being quiet about it.

Economy is basically a casino? Let's endorse rampant gambling and crypto!

History of white supremacy? Let's be white supremacist!

American psychiatry: do you feel you suffer from one or more mental health conditions? Go to a psychiatrist, pay so much that it financially destabilizes your entire life, and maybe you'll find something that helps! Maybe. Also, if you don't do this, YOU are being irresponsible.

Adulting, verb: paying for things you don't want with money you don't have because the people who you're paying paid the people who are supposed to protect you to get them to require it.

Capitalism has always left out a percentage of the population, it's just that, before DEI initiatives, policies ensured that this percentage was almost entirely minorities and women. Now, the "right" has correctly identified that this poverty percentage is becoming more(*) ethnically balanced./

America: Where we will circle a parking lot for 10 minutes to save 1 minute of walking.

I've never been a very expressive person, and in the early 00s, I was told a few times that I'm really hard to read.

Today, I don't get told that, but I am frequently informed of different emotions that I am apparently feeling.

I feel like we're all getting worse at saying "I don't know."

The Mariners putting in Bazardo in that spot was the right call to anyone without the luxury of hindsight. He has repeatedly succeeded in that situation this postseason, and there's a big difference between asking Muñoz to get 6 outs and 8 outs. He made one bad pitch, and the M's luck ran out.

Normalize immediately ending transactions and walking away when offered an intrusive upsell.

The flaws of Boomers always come down to the same thing. They are a generation that blames young people for living in the world they created. They want all the credit and no accountability.

I've discovered a new pet peeve that I swear wasn't happening before. Someone says something like, "I forgot my keys, so can you [unintelligible]?"
So I ask, "sorry, I didn't catch that."
They then reply, "My keys," and look at me expectantly.

I think it is an essential family experience for 2 parents who can't spell to give an impromptu spelling test to their kid who can.

I love the sentiment that political violence has no place in a country founded by violent revolution.

Saying "the woke mob is obsessed with race. They're the real racists!" Is like saying, "doctors are always talking about disease. They're the real..." ah fuck...

We have a poverty line. I propose the creation of a wealth line, a personal networth which creates little measurable improvement to someone's life and significant damage to the national wellbeing by increasing it. Make it pointless to reach a certain level of rich to disincentivize endless growth.

That feeling when you tell your partner about the video where Verizon kept misquoting $.002 as .002 cents and then end up doing a home math lesson...

Hey, just a little controversial throwback here. This is the exact kind of voluntary incompetence that "bean dad" was trying to keep his daughter from falling into, and everyone got mad at him because "she will be able just use Google for help in real life."
Grounds for divorce imo
