Tidal flooding in Vaca Key (near Marathon, FL) has been occurring daily since Thursday, Sep 21. Unfortunately, this trend is expected to continue for at least the next ten days. The highest water levels are expected around 10-3 before tapering off by the weekend of 10-7.

For the past few years, I have been working along side @bmcnoldy.bsky.social at @miamirosenstiel.bsky.social on a project to create smarter tide forecasts. Using these forecasts, we have identified potential flooding events at 4/4 sites in South Florida in the upcoming 10 days.
