Thank you Calgary! All water restrictions have been lifted.

Your efforts over the past 2 weeks helped crews complete repairs.

Huge thanks to Emergency Operations staff and work crews who have been on the job around the clock since Dec. 30.

🚨On Jan. 14, our water use was 501 ML, putting us in the unsustainable zone. We still need your help to save water for just a little bit longer. Continue skipping flushes, washing full loads only and limiting showers to 3 minutes.

We need your help to keep our water system healthy while we repair the feeder main:

✅Use 30L less water/day
🚿Every minute counts: Keep showers to 3 min or less
🚽Every flush counts: Flush only when needed
💧Every cycle & load counts: Run full loads for laundry and dishes

WATER USE NEARING SUSTAINABLE LEVELS

We are nearing our daily goal of 485 million litres.

Remember, small actions = big impact
🚽 flush only when necessary
🍽️ run dishwashers and laundry when full
🚿 Reduce showers to 3 minutes

Let's keep it up so we can safely reach repair milestones #yyc #yyccc

🚨On Jan. 9, our water use was 504 ML which is 19 ML above the sustainable level of 485 ML. We are still experiencing a strain on our distribution system, limiting our ability to produce treated water, refill underground reservoirs overnight and move water to everyone.

Ask our Water Expert: How long do we need to conserve water?

Until repairs are completed. Our goal: 600 million litres/day in storage. Please keep saving water.

🚿 3 min showers
🚽 Flush only when needed
💧Full loads for laundry & dishes

What this report has highlighted is the massive infrastructure deficit in Calgary. My priority is to ensure that we fix and maintain the infrastructure in Ward 8 and throughout the city #yyc #yyccc

WATER USE STILL UNSUSTAINABLE

We must conserve water now to complete this critical stage of repairs and protect:

💧Public health and safety
💧Emergency services
💧Businesses
💧Essential services

The more water we save, the faster we can finish repairs and start next steps 1/ #yyc #yyccc
