If you work in an org with a culture of blame, shame & hierarchical directives, remember it's symptomatic of insecurity. If someone is grounded & centred, they have no need to be aggressive, dictatorial or overtly egoic.

Wisdom whispers. Those who lead from behind don't care who gets the credit.

A little message (and analogy) if you're feeling a bit brittle with the need to control a difficult situation.

There are always micro pockets of quiet available, regardless of what's going on around you.

There are many reasons why women start their own ventures. Mine included creating a charity to fill a gap (mental health) & working on my own terms (juggling family).

If you're a woman growing a seedling biz or non-profit, join us for a friendly, free online chat to explore this more..

Everyday irony: edging at snail's pace down a dual carriageway at rush hour with one lane coned off.... no workpeople present & an empty highways truck parked up with a big sign emblazoned on it 'Here just when you need us.'

There's something very special about relationships with grandparents.

Lives half lived

Why leave it
until the embers
and final whisperings
of our existence
to take stock
and look at
the way we are
living?

We might
be less conditioned
to over-extend
and put the relentless
hours in
at the office
for a long-anticipated
future arrival
that may not
actually transpire

Life is full of false advertising. Take the 'easy peeler'. Irony at its best.

Went to my local library this morning to do a bit of research for my current book project and my goodness such a life-affirming space! There was an adult being taught to read on the next table, children enjoying story time, countless people taking out books. So grateful for our libraries ❤️

Love this. Feels slightly incongruous to be thinking about tequila at this time on a Monday, but I reckon it's preferable to being the lime. 🍋‍🟩

Solo matinee to watch #Hamnet. Give me a moment or two to pick up all the pieces of myself I left in that seat & to rearrange my face in the harsh lights as the credits rolled.

Anyone else gripped by #TheNightManager? Although it's a bit odd that Machiavellian Richard Roper (master of deception) didn't ask a single question when Teddy casually mentioned the mystery Hong Kong sole investor..

The Sustainable School Leadership Study report showed 47.9% of leaders surveyed felt burnout often/ all of the time. It makes sense for accessible emotional support to be available, but is this sthg schools struggle to fund or resource? I wonder if there's some good practice to share? #edusky

Woke up to this little card by my bed from my daughter. What a lovely way to start a Sunday.

Genuine (ignorant) question: do teachers/people working in educational settings with an emotional wellbeing/safeguarding facet to their roles have regular access to supervision, coaching or therapeutic support? I'm trying to understand if there are standard processes across the landscape. #edusky
