Senator King is working hard to get the message to every Arkansan that his public safety plan is bettern than a mega prison that will burden taxpayers. Tell your legislators you want his common sense approach to public safety.

So day one, President Trump has signed an order making it easier for the private prison industry to capitalize on taxpayers. Rest assured the plan is for them to come to Arkansas.

They plan to hire an out of state architect, out-of-state contractor, and the owners representative is also out-of-state? I thought this was going to bring jobs to ARKANSANS…

Still no contact from the governor's office. Vanir and the D.O.C. held a kick-off party today. When reminded they agreed to be transparent, Thomas Burns, inside counsel for the BOC, said "While we do, (want to be transparent), this isn't a public meeting today". In a government building.

Best post of the year! 😜
I mean, it's open to the public. It would be wonderful to have folks from LR in attendance and a wide range of backgrounds. It's all hands on deck. We want and value open, candid conversations...if that hasn't been emphasized enough. Frankly, we're begging for it!

Pay attention Arkansas! They are trying to make you pay for BILLIONS of dollars when they have an option to do what’s right and save taxpayers money.

So to recap:

– Franklin County wasn’t among the most suitable sites for the new prison

– Nobody in Franklin County wanted it

– And it’s gonna cost at least three times as much as the state said it would
