Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.
I have a client wanting to upgrade the RAM in 6 computers and they're questioning my prices when I tell them it's going to be over $2000 and I may not even be able to get the RAM for two months.

I've mentioned this before but with the fifth call this morning I'm asking again.

What are people doing with their game consoles to break the HDMI ports? Your PS5 or Xbox doesn't need to be tossed around. The cables have no reason to be moved. What's the deal?

I just had a call from a recruiter about an Nvidia server admin role for an AI farm nearby. I asked what they're paying. $25 an hour. I told them I hope their client steps on a nail and the farm burns down.

This is why you dig through the dollar bins.
I found this one yesterday for $1. Perfect condition vinyl.

I've never felt such a deep dislike for a city until just now.

NYC, Virginia, New Jersey and California, I have one thing to say to you:

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

"What's your thoughts on AI?"
"Can you help me with Cryptocurrency?"

I hate getting these questions but I get them almost daily.

I miss the early days when Pandora would tell you why it chose the song it is playing.

"Similar to (title of song I picked), this song has rhythmic syncopation with a focus on heavy guitars and vocal harmonies."

Interesting choice of decoration in our hotel room.

The controllers for the Tournament 2000 are removable. From what I can tell for no other reason than to replace a broken controller, like this one.
October 11, 2025 at 8:30 PM
Does anyone know the difference, if any, in the two versions of the Tournament 2000 console? Just a cosmetic change? I see nothing else different.

Cleaning up the Tournament 2000 I found this week.

I need one of these trucks.
Also, one of the best coffees.

I get at least 5 calls a week to fix an HDMI port in an XBOX or PS5. What are people doing to their consoles? Swinging them around by the cables? I don't think my cable has moved since the day I set it up years ago. Why would it?

I found a Univision Tournament 2000 today. It needs a little care but all of the knobs are on it, the sliders are all in good condition and it works. Weekend project.

I love an organized record shop and this one goes further by breaking down metal into subgenres.

KEF might be the absolute worst airport I've ever been to and I've been to some stinkers. I have no desire to visit Iceland at all now.

I bought a big stack of records across my Europe trip. Nothing from my wantlist. I expected to find Hardline. I did find a mint original US press of Soundgarden Superunknown. I don't even like Soundgarden but someone else in the house does and it was priced far, far below what it usually sells for.

Taking a passenger ferry to Oslo has made me realize that a Disney cruise would be my own personal hell.

If anyone ever tells you that first class European train travel is not worth the (small) price difference over second class they're lying to you.

If you ever heard that Zurich is expensive it was not a lie.
September 23, 2025 at 6:39 PM
Zurich is chill. This might be the most laid back city I've ever visited.

They're playing xmas music at HSV. It's not even good xmas music. It's a cover of The Carpenters.
