Info to have at hand:
Personnel Facts about NASA Goddard Sciences

There are about 6,600 employees working for GSFC. This includes those located in Greenbelt (MD) and personnel at the smaller centers in Wallops (VA) and the (now virtual) GISS center in NYC.

hey @nasawatch.bsky.social

In addition to Ames and Marshall, the GISS library closed too .

I wonder of the whereabouts about all those tech docs. Some must be historical docs.

And what about already existing documents and papers who refer (or cite) reports formerly in those libraries?

I don't understand how a workforce can focus on a mission if you don't make attractive to be physically at work to start with.

I assume that next in line are the daycare, health unit and pothole maintenance.

Well, it's been a week back at the office.

My first impression from driving around campus was that I did not notice major physical changes, and I saw parking lots filled with about the same number of cars as before the shutdown (including those at buildings deemed to

There is a misconception that "Because you work at NASA, you will easily get a job after leaving"

I heard this over and over again when I say where I work.

Well, it is not like that at all, not in the case of scientists working in Earth Sciences (ES).

Hello, I haven't posted much lately because with the shutdown all interactions with peers or officials has gone almost to zero, so I don't have any scoop or observations to share, that is not a rumor that I feel is worth sharing. I will send a couple of articles later though.

I do not have any updates as of today.

I have no come across of anything that it is more than a rumor. It just creates false ideas and expectations.

One thing that I would share is that I was some exposed of the bureaucracy that my CS colleagues have to do and it made feel pity for them.
