Some offices will host 3 persons instead of two (Note: most of the offices are designed for 2 people). Also, it provided notices that individual emails will be sent notifying if you will be moved or taken over by a different group or person. I guess we will see as the week starts.

At B33, we already received general notices on how each lab will move around to different hallways and a warning that office consolidation will happen.

I'm sharing this now because (I'm afraid) another wave is likely to happen soon.

I’ll be commenting on this soon. Stay tuned.

Note the high proportion of contractors to CSs—a long-standing norm at Goddard. I argue that it worked well for many years, but it is clear (for at least 10 years, IMHO) that it is not working.

These are approximate figures (based on public info) after the significant CS departures over the

Code 600 (Science Directorate) has 2,800 employees, with 480 civil servants (i.e., federal employees) and the rest are contractors.

These include the Earth Science Division (Code 610) with 1,400 employees, including the 480 CSs.

Goddard Space Center library is due to disappear.

It is not about when, but how and where the books will go.

Another casualty in this relentless attack to #science and culture.

I don't understand how a workforce can focus on a mission if you don't make attractive to be physically at work to start with.

I assume that next in line are the daycare, health unit and pothole maintenance.

What it is very clear to me is that in either scenario, more people will involuntary leave particularly scientists.

However, with no budget, its size and scope remain uncertain. Yet, we have been told to plan according to either the Presidential Budget Request (50% cut) or the Senate modified budget (with cuts but not as severe as the PBR) .

only reinforced the gloom spiral we are in right now.

Also, we were told that there is no news on the Earth Sciences side. There are ideas to create a virtual modeling institute that will encompass activities and modeling groups across several campuses.

defective that people were asked not to use running water for drinking or washing. Either fixing or rebuilding was clearly a very expensive proposition, and with a reduced number of missions, it is understandable to make such reductionsHowever, the way this has been done and communicated has

Our center directors confirmed that about 1,000 people have left this year, and we are now at 6,600 (including two-thirds
