I think I got my process figured out in more concrete, generally acceptable terms which other pro-arters also say, so I don't sound completely insane:
1) Draw by feel, not by sight. (Sculpt with the pencil)
2) Draw actions, not things. (Normal animator advice.)
3) Draw what's good. Not what is.

True like I don't even care anymore about art looking wonky or cringe or not to my taste, because at the end of the day that person still made something and followed through with it. That alone mogs AI.
the only good thing about genAI is that it got me to really love seeing bad art, because I know a person put in time and effort, made themselves vulnerable by showing it to others, and is trying to improve. I value that more than anything now

Sometimes I wonder how Umamusume would have turned out if they made the umamusume based on stallions also male, but then all hell would probably break loose if that happened.

I just bought Dirty Pair Complete Artworks softcover. When I was aiming to be a manga artist, I traced a lot of gals by Hiroyuki Hataike and Tsukasa Dokite. I'm still a fan of their illustrations today. Someday, I'd like to draw a lewd sexy fan art of Yuri from Dirty Pair. lol
