oh, a couple of things i forgot to mention:
▪ magic wands are used for the transformation; the wands themselves can transform into a weapon
▪ drawing a pentagram with blood isn't the only way to summon the magic wand and to transform (this isn't how it's going to happen in the pilot episode!). ⤵

Design is a combination of Black Moon Lilith symbol and inverted pentagram
Cool lore I came up with recently: to summon her magic wand, a magical girl must use a droplet of her own blood to draw the inverted pentagram symbol, on some kind of surface or simply in the air.
