It can be really hard to persist and continue to work as a scientist or engineer when disinformation is the norm. Celebrated in fact. Shaking the feeling of a dystopian future is proving to be very hard.

Why would I need to hold a short position to provide a perspective?

Today it is nothing but a scheme for extreme wealth transfer. Early adopters and large holders control a significant portion of Bitcoin (aka Billionaires), creating wealth concentration. Add technical barriers on top of that and now you have even more imbalance.

Yes Bitcoin and non inflationary design is really cool. I love the tech. But it fails the necessary conditions of being a trustable store of value (volatility), medium of exchange (transaction speed limits), or a unit of account (it ultimately is still translated to dollar amount).

@mcuban.bsky.social I have not seen one use case for crypto that is compelling. All I see are meme coins and trading over assets that have no underlying value. Am I missing something? Why are you so bullish about crypto?

Just my 2 cents. But my goal is to ignore the trolls. Give them zero attention. Block them if they annoy me.

I think the worst thing we can do on this site is re-create the ad hominem/ personal attacks that occur across comments on Twitter/insta/tiktok/ etc
