Known for his excellent playoff performances (which analytics can’t explain) this ace of out staff managed to not have Tommy John surgery despite it being recommended to him.

Even though this LHP had 26 career relief appearances, he was very mad about being asked to come in as the long man in a playoff game. That Happened to be his last appearance in pinstripes.
He lost a WS to us.

In 15 years in the majors split between 8 teams, this man won 20 games in a season once. He ranked 2nd in RoY votes where he posted a 12-4, sub 3 ERA at the age of 26 with 2 SHO. He took the number of a certain failed first baseman once he was DFA’d.

This Yank was traded for and then with the same pitcher to bookend his time in the organization. Once a Met prospect, he was traded by them for a boar of a man.
He was most recently on a Mexican team with Greg Allen.

This Mexican born RHP spent a good 6 years as a yank where he started in the most games of his Yankee career in a single season his initial year. At a point where a different pitcher by the same first name and he, picked up starts due to injury, he played with Tanaka-san.

Known for his bat speed & his stylish cleats, he was a Yankee for 5 of his 7 years in the majors. Never playing in 70+ games in a season, this man had an epic first at bat & hit 12 homers one season. He was part of a trade that sent a great relief pitcher to CLE.

This Yank was traded for a future HoFer. While he was a Yank he became best friends with our shortstop.
He was teammates with Jon Berti, Anthony Rizzo, DJ LeMahieu, and Juan Soto at different times.

Chris Capuano was also in that trade. He pitched in 34 games (16 starts) for us between 2014 and 2015.

Chad Moeller was also in that trade. He played in 41 games in 2008 and 9 in 2010 for the Yanks.

We’re just naming Yanks left and right here and no one on this app seems to care 😭

Don’t overthink this one. He was someone’s bae.
That haul trade he was part of had 2 players who would eventually play for the Yanks (for a combined game total under 30)

This 1B enjoyed a 14 year career playing 142 games with the Yanks in one year. Played for 6 teams and led the league in 2B’s 1x with 53. His only OF appearances were with the Yanks where he had 4. Once a part of a haul of a trade where a future Yankee was involved.

THEME ANSWER!: Including today’s featured player, Ramon Flores, all of these players wore my favorite player’s Giancarlo Stanton’s number, 27 for at least one game.
THEME QUESTION!:
Bobby Murcer, Luis Sojo, Raul Ibanez, Kevin Brown & today’s player all have many things in common, but I am looking for a specific theme that connects them all. Guess that theme below.
Hint for the theme in my bio.

This Venezuelan born OF was a lefty who was signed as an Amateur Free Agent by the Yankees only to play 12 total games for the Yankees his first year in the majors. In his 3 year career, MIL was the only team that gave the man 100+ games as a starter.

This infamous Yank won an unlikely World Series. A RHP that George desperately wanted, this starter was past his prime when he got here (thanks George).
He broke his hand punching a wall.

Despite his long career, his two years as a Yank are what we remember mostly, especially his ALCS performance. In 2 game starts in the ALCS, he threw 3.1 IP to a 21.60 ERA against Boston. Hated since, he is one of the names that get brought up when we talk about the JD’s of the Yank.

This Yank was a teammate of ARod for another team, too.
He pinch hit “for an aging ARod,” but is also older than Alex. He was twice on teams that lost to the Yankees in postseason play.

Born in NYC, in his 19 year career he was a Yankee for only 1 playing in 130 games. This 1x AS came up in a huge pinch hit situation where he was put in for an aging A-Rod, hitting homers in two consecutive at bats, the latter being a walk off in the 12th.

This Swiss Army knife of a defensive player spent most of his time at 2B. A staple on those dynasty teams, this Yank was re-acquired in a championship season. Did anyone notice he was gone?

Be mercyful that it’s coming so late in the day.
We lost this OKC native in 2008, and the way-too-young age of 62.

This beloved Yankee was a LHB who won one Gold Glove. Starting and ending his career as a Yankee (which many believe he should never have been traded) this man spent 13 of his 17 years in the majors with us and had 5 consecutive AS appearances. Traded for a great dad.

His brothers Tommy & Luke & his Cousin Rip were all major leaguers.
Answer: Joe Sewell! This LHB was active from 1920-1933, winning 2 WS, one his rookie year with CLE & one his second to last year with the Yankees in 1932. With a career 59 HRs & a BA of .312, he was elected into the HOF in 1977 by a veterans committee.

This man was teammates with Ruth & Gehrig & is himself in the HoF despite hitting under 50 homers. With a career 1000+ RBIs, his .312 BA suggests he could see the ball well, he hit a career best .353 BA. He had 2 brothers & a cousin also play in the majors.
