One mechanic I wish the anime had used is the fact that, canonically, the Pokédex allows trainers to switch any Pokémon they want from anywhere. Yet, it’s only ever mentioned once, in Episode 13 of the original series, and the function is never used again.

A reason why I like XY is Serena, Clemont & Bonnie are patient with Ash's antics & are very supportive towards him & rarely argue with him. When Serena scolds him, she does it in a calm manner but Misty, May, Iris & even Dawn causes a scene.
