Hey friends, can I ask you all to give our @littleghostsbooks.bsky.social Crowdfundr a look? Any amount helps us with our workspace renovation plans, if you're not able (which I understand!), if you could share the link that would be amazing. Love you all! 🤗🧡 👻📚

People keep asking me questions at parties for which the answer is "because that's a diglossia!" but tragically not enough people know what a diglossia is so that doesn't actually help

So we've made this episode!
In some communities, everyone regularly uses two languages or varieties according to the social situation, with one of them being more prestigious (and more likely to be written down) than the other.

In this episode we get enthusiastic about diglossia!

If you love something, don't let capitalism get its dirty fucking fingers gripped too tight on it seems to be the only lesson I've ever learned. Support the small and the feral and those too interested in the art than to know any better than to have made better choices.

In the aughts I had a job finding passeges and poems from the public domain to use in End-of-Grade testing for the state, and it makes me wonder if the stuff I picked stuck with any of the kids. I tried.

We regret to inform you that due to warmer weather the hawks have been more persistent and our cast has been reduced. We hope to have new faces soon, though, eyewitness accounts report those acts to be equally as violent. Nature, it is said, is no joke.

I loved playing Avowed last year. I think in video games I am able to digest fantasy worlds and stories better when playing first person or at least in a closer distance to the world than isometric crpgs like the pillars of eternity games I'm trying to play since. The stories are all great though.
