Decided I'd try to install Forza Horizon 3 on a 7 y/o version of Windows to see if it could bypass the PC version's online matchmaking issues.
Ended up spending 8 hours troubleshooting the most Microsoft bullshit possible to get the game running at all.

Found the cause of an issue that's been plaguing me in NFS Carbon. Turns out the Extra Options SplashScreenTimeLimit tweak (which controls how long you can wait at the title screen before the intro movies replay) has a side effect where camera shake in NISs intensifies. Higher value = harder.

Random fun fact: ATV Offroad Fury 2 can actually detect if your PS2's clock battery is dead, and will disable online text chat if it is.
This is the only PS2 game I've seen with dead battery detection. Anyone know of another?
