The last decade I couldn’t wrap my brain around why the NYT would bury Trump stuff at the back of the paper or whitewash his racism and sexism and act like they want him to be president and then we find out the publisher’s grandfather is in the Epstein files and it’s like oh ok pedophiles again.

I was laid off around the time of the News Red Wedding of 2019 and today seems just as bloody from the depressing news out of WaPo and AJC. I know a fair amount of you cover politics and if you want to keep covering midterms, let's talk. Going independent doesn't mean we can't team up to some extent

I truly hate that NYT is the last large newspaper left standing. I love a lot of parts of NYT and getting a byline in the Sunday print edition was a milestone, but it has to have competition. At some point maybe the Substack and Beehiiv's will coalesce to form a new wave of digital outlets a la 2012

I truly hate that NYT is the last large newspaper left standing. I love a lot of parts of NYT and getting a byline in the Sunday print edition was a milestone, but it has to have competition. How many of them know how to ask for a warrant? How many know what type of warrant they need or anything about sovereign land rights? We already know not all of them went through FLETC training but it seems the baseline of mental health and intelligence is lower than that of other /law enf agencies
