The first games of the year were two unplayed games I bought at Gen Con. First up was Quorum which had a ton of scoring conditions. Then we played Pick 'n Packers as a light end of night dexterity game. The last team pictured here made it furthest to spot 4. Keeping these two for now!

I got shelves and books set up in my new office. And the griddle plate I ordered fit in the new stove. We're still a month or so away from fully moving in but it feels good doing fun things here and there.

It's happening again! Time to start packing for the move to our new house! Last move my board games took up 22 boxes (mostly large or medium Lowe's sizes). This is the first 11 oddly shaped boxes done. I don't think I'll be packing everything this time, as it's less than 400 feet away.

Finally found a pizza place in Baltimore that's 1. Good and 2. In walking distance. And they had a Thursday deal for two whole pies that'll give us leftovers through the weekend. Big praise for Doppio Pasticceria.

Had a great time at PAX Unplugged! It had been 7 years since I went the first time and it seems like it's gotten bigger. Focused on playing games rather than specific events. Here's my haul and some thoughts to follow.

Ok Destiny 2 folks! I finally did the fabled kepler missions (well, still have the last one). I was able to solo them all first try. Are the mythic ones still unreasonable to try solo?

Weekly board game meetup in Baltimore. Played Ice and Idols, a pickup and deliver game where the board rotates and tiles move around and collapse. Very strong table presence, but prone to AP with all the options. Probably more worth it to play the quick play rules only.

I'll be honest, I've completely fallen off playing. I absolutely hate the tier system for weapons and armor. The grind is so much worse than it's ever been. Is the game fun still? ABSOLUTELY. But making all my old stuff bad and needing to continually grind for slightly better new things isn't it.

Watched the first three episodes of The Paper, the sequel series to The Office. So far I like a lot of what it's doing and will definitely finish the season. But I can't stand Esmeralda. The character is actively sabotaging things in more of an evil villain way, and not jealous coworker. #thepaper

Had my first play of Tianxia, the most recent game in the T series from Daniele Tascini. I enjoyed this efficiency puzzle with lots of combos and going up tracks. Deciding whether to keep my early Gen Con copy or sell before retail release.

Got to play Perch this weekend. This is a cute, quick, and cutthroat bird game about having the biggest or second biggest flock on the tile to score points. Some locations also give you special powers or control of creatures that can scare away other birds.
