Decided to use my triangular cutter to make little hats those year. But I kept dropping the piping bag on the darn cookies, ruining some of the best designs.

Public library updated their catalog/website. The cookies settings are defaulting to tracking cookies being turned on. I've sent them a friendly comment that perhaps that doesn't fit library privacy best practices... 😬

Did one last Bake with a Legend class for the year, making a Paris-Brest with GBBO's beloved Howard leading things. It turned out amazing! Well, the choux squirrel is a bit wonky, but hey, that doesn't affect flavor.

Watched a double feature of the Bishop's Wife and the original Black Christmas tonight. I rarely take advantage of my public library's streaming video options (usually borrow DVDs/BDs), but on a rare occasion I indulge and make weird life choices.

Snowflake gingerbread cookies are done. And one random ornament. Was going to write something in the center but chickened out. Bad handwriting + mediocre piping skills seems a bad combo.

Decorating cookies is so relaxing... Although the fact that these 3 took 90 minutes doesn't bode well for the dozens of cookies I still have to ice.

Yay, another Axelle Red CD for the collection. I was shocked to discover she had a Christmas album last year. Received it as a birthday gift this year. ❤️

I had the itch to bake holiday cookies for work, but wanted my vegan colleague to be included. Logically, I could have made 1 batch of vegan cookies and called it good enough. Instead, I decided she needed 4 different options. I have no self control when it comes to baking.

I did okay with patisserie week: lemon and blueberry entremet. Slightly overcooked the blueberry, but everything else is lovely. Even the blueberry is fine, just a bit gummy.

Due to the timing with the Paralympics, there is no wheelchair competition at the US Open. However, the USTA will give players who would have had direct entry a grant "equivalent of prize money as compensation."

Rounded triangle cookie cutters are very versatile. I've already done 3 different designs since last year (candy corn, Santa, and now watermelon slices) and have more ideas. I think I could make cute, pudgy corn cobs...

Ah, now I see why folks hate the CR store--I didn't realize you couldn't order anything that isn't currently in stock. I bought most of Witch Hat Atelier at a local bookstore, but figured I'd order the 3 missing volumes from CR to get some savings. That plan has failed me.

Random cat pics. Lucky "helped" finish a puzzle last night , and Socks is currently keeping me pinned to the couch. TBF, I need sleep. Spent 12-2 am cleaning out the fridge following 30 hours without power. Then still woke up at 6:15 (I'm on vacation...)
