Those of you who follow us online may have seen that we used the last week of holiday closure announcements to troll our staff member/Cowboys fan, Doug, because we were pretty sure the Cowboys wouldn't be winning on Thursday last week. Well, it takes a big person to admit they were wrong.

Market Days are coming up at LINC and Carbon Valley Regional Library on Sat. Dec. 6! This is the ending of our Youth Biz Academy series, and you can buy small handcrafted gifts, support youth, and get some Buy Local gifts for the holiday season!

Libraries are OPEN for Black Friday, and if you're in the Erie area, come check out The American Revolution Experience, a traveling exhibit that'll be gone at the end of the month!

HPLD closes at 5 Wed. and all day Thurs., partly so our staff member Doug can watch the Cowboys...give it their best on Thursday. Maybe this Cowboys Super Bowl Collection DVD would cheer him up? Huh...you know how when you look at a DVD, you can SEE when a movie is really short?

We'll be closed at 5 pm next Wednesday, Nov. 26, and closed all day Thursday, Nov. 27, a day on which the Cowboys play. Should we pull together and buy our Cowboy fan staff member Doug this (VERY) vintage shirt from the last time the Cowboys went to the Super Bowl?

Let's bring this Diaper Drive in for a soft landing after an adrenaline-filled couple of weeks of Fast, Furious donations.
You've got until the 16th, Sunday, to bring in any clean diapers (including loose singles, pull ups and adult sizes), wipes, and rash cream.

Okay, this is a fun one:
HPLD staff member Michelle won this year's Pattie Johnson Outreach Award at the national Association of Bookmobile and Outreach Services conference!

A set of old gifs might seem like a weird way to remind everyone we'll close libraries at 5 PM on Wednesday, Nov. 26th and be closed all day Thursday, Nov. 27th, but we chose these carefully.

Ugh, if you're thinking about writing one of those "Amazon is better than libraries" articles, maybe save it for a holiday dinner rant for your family and spare the rest of us your silliness.

Hey, Rickets here, Santa's Library Elf.
My inbox is open to letters for questions about bookish gifts, holiday book questions, and I'm also happy to reprint bookish wish lists for Santa in our December newsletter. Send 'em in, and I'll see what I can do!

We regret to inform you that we had a patron come in today and let us know they've already watched all of this, there's none left for anyone else, so you'll just have to pick up a book or something instead.

Sorry about the mess, I dropped a copy of Tom's Crossing by House of Leaves author Mark Z. Danielewski. It clocks in at over 1200 pages, but it's a great way to finish out the year. Just, you know, warm up a little before you pick it up off the hold shelf.

That's right, the Diaper Drive is in high gear!
Nov. 3 - 16, HPLD libraries will collect:
Any clean diapers (including loose singles, pull ups and adult sizes), wipes, and rash cream.
It's not about diapers. It's about family. And, also, it IS about diapers. It can be about two things.
November 8, 2025 at 8:11 PM
When you're a diaper user, you live your life a diaper at a time.
Which is why we're once again revving up our diaper drive!
Nov. 3 - 16, HPLD libraries will collect:
Any clean diapers (including loose singles, pull ups and adult sizes), wipes, and rash cream. Bring 'em in, fam!
