Me. Yes, it’s Niu Tīreni. A phonetic translation of NZ which doesn't mean nor refers to ‘Aotearoa', period. Likewise, Aotearoa does not mean New Zealand but is a widely accepted misconception. #etipuereo

Toka tū moana. A solitary rock rising up out of the ocean. It refers to a person's strength to overcome and to stand firm against the trials and tribulations that life will throw at that person. It's often used as an honorific or as an expression of respect (he kupu whakarangatira). #etipuereo
