We pride ourselves as a nation of animal lovers - yet in 2024, 22,000+ animals were harmed by regulatory failures in labs.

It’s time to end animal testing.

As a dad and MP, I worry about the impact of social media on our children. Over 250 people in #WorsleyAndEccles have contacted me on this.

I’ve written to the Secretary of State to push for action - promoting safety while preserving access to positive, interest-based spaces.👇

Today I joined @samaritans.bsky.social for #BrewMonday. It was a reminder of how much of a difference a simple cuppa, a catch-up, or just talking about how we’re feeling can make.

Everyone should have the right to a contract that reflects the hours they actually work. Labour’s Employment Rights Act could do just that – if we keep pushing to make sure the government gets this right.

Local volunteers like Graham Walker are the heart of our community, keeping the spirit of Remembrance alive. I was very pleased to present him with a Letter of Appreciation recognising his dedication to veterans and the wider Armed Forces from the Secretary of State for Defence.

The new right to a guaranteed hours contract in the Employment Rights Act could be transformational, finally ending exploitative short and zero-hour contracts.

But we must make sure we get the detail right and ensure all workers benefit.
“The employment rights bill and the New Deal for Working People are some of the Labour government’s most popular policies”

Labour’s plan to offer guaranteed hours contracts to all workers will be transformational - only if we get it right.

〰️ Men's health is so important, that's why I'm supporting November UK.

It was great to hear so many colleagues speak out this week about these issues and their personal experiences, and also to see our Government launch the first Men's Health Strategy.

Thank you to the 1,797 people who co-signed my letter calling for the ‘Bridgewater West’ site to be removed from the Wigan Local Plan.

The letter has now been sent to all 75 Wigan Councillors.

Together, our message is loud and clear: this land must stay Green Belt.

It was a privilege to lay a wreath at the memorial in Swinton today

We paused today to honour the courage and sacrifice of all who served and gave their lives in the pursuit of peace.

We will remember them.
