Watching Jekyll And Hyde (1990), starring Michael Caine (via @talkingpicturestv.bsky.social). Costume have pulled off some extreme bustle work. Cheryl Ladd is essaying a passable English accent. Caine is on cruise control at the moment but sheer charisma is pulling him through. Hyde is very scary 😨

Also on Malory Towers, it's set in Cornwall but anyone who isn't pupil or staff (RP/upper class) has a broad Northern accent.

Daughter is watching Malory Towers. All good, clean fun but I feel sorry for all those modern young actresses desperately sounding their 't' s and 'h's.

Discovered Denis O Smith's Sherlock Holmes stories in an anthology and they are so good - gothic and grotesque yet very authentic

Currently enjoying 'They All Love Jack' by Bruce Robinson.

I loathe getting my hair cut.

Today I just missed the owner, with whom I can at least chat about football.

Got one of the many sullen bearded young men he employs instead, who'd much rather do 'fades' than cut my rubbish old hair.
