Boogie Nights is one of my all-time favorite movies. I just watched P.T. Anderson’s best movie. Loved this so much. And it probably has the Best car chase film committed to film since Ronin in 1998.

While it felt like a number of plot points were glossed over, I did still really like this. Sally Hawkins is fantastic here.

Mixed. Ari Aster can’t tell
a story succinctly, though I appreciate taking the bold choice to confront 2020 and challenging that period of our lives through hindsight. But the first hour is a slog, Emma Stone is utterly unnecessary for the role. Imperfect, but after the first hour, it’s not boring.

“You do it to yourself, you do, and that’s why it really hurts, cause you do it to yourself, just you, you and no one else, you do it to yourseeeeeelf”

This one goes out to all the MAGA morons who voted away their healthcare. Go fuck yourselves.

Overall, I liked Friendship. Have to be able to laugh at cringeworthy social awkwardness. A little uncomfortable, but appreciated it for that.

Magazine Dreams: incel exploration is a genre I’ve had enough of. I feel like there’s no shortage of character studies into the mind of loners who snap.

I don’t say this as a bad thing, but it’s not exactly what I was expecting. It’s an entirely different story set in this universe. Also, it’s the first of a planned trilogy, so it’s hard to judge as a standalone film. But would I see the next installment? Yes.

Loved the shit out of this. So much of his story was hidden by the character. Complex guy who made a fascinating documentary subject.

The game show host and his lackeys love to fellate Orban, so this is something the gays should pay attention to.

Kylie Minogue’s Orlando concert was fantastic. Wasn’t sure what to expect but left impressed.

If you find yourself in Orlando, prioritize a visit to Kaya. Elevated Filipino cuisine, and it’s fucking outstanding.

I think “Dying For Sex”’ is the first time I’ve genuinely enjoyed Michelle Williams. I mean, I generally think she’s okay, but she always felt kinda bland to me. Didn’t seem worthy of being a five-time Oscar nominee. But I think she’s great in this.

Have a sneaking suspicion that every gay dude who adopts a dog in the next six months will name her Piper just so they can all run around the dog park saying “Piiiiper Noooo!!!”

So far, the star of White Lotus 3 is definitely Lorazepam. Gave us Jason Isaac’s full frontal and now foreshadowing an off-her-meds Parker Posey in the weeks to come.

The chorus of Gaga’s “Abracadabra” is to Tears For Fears “Mad World” what the chorus of Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way”is to Madonna’s “Express Yourself.”

Severed myself from Severance. Been down this road before. Cryptic works to a point, but at a certain point, you feel the creators have no more of an idea of where this is going than you do. (See Westworld).
