Attending the National Postdoc Association meeting was eye opening. So many people who are committed to supporting and advocating for postdocs, all so creatively + collaboratively. Excited to return and implement some of what I’ve learned.

Sometimes, life reminds you that behind the science is people. Lab life can be hard, but when you have camaraderie, man you really look forward to the small chitchats, teaching moments, coffee breaks, etc., that imbue that moment of discovery as more than just a stroke of ingenuity or luck. (1/3)

@loyolachicago.bsky.social is now an R1 institution. This is great, but also: having trained at R1's before coming to then-R2 LUC, I valued seeing that exciting science can happen at breakneck speed and with enriching collab at all types of institutions.

not paying indirect costs for research is like only paying the players in the Super Bowl.

can't have a Super Bowl without coaches, referees, security, janitors, announcers, stadium staff, and a stadium - and you can't have research without supporting people and facilities
