"While climatic trends increased by 2.5x the frequency of high-risk fire-weather, the combination of this trend with WUI expansion led to a 4.1-fold increase in the frequency of conditions conducive to extreme-impact wildfires from 1990 to 2022 across California." 🌏 www.nature.com/articles/s44...
The recent #Eaton and #Palisades fires in Los Angeles exemplify this risk, as shown in our study:
