Guys: it really shouldn't take *elonfuckingmusk* to point out the insanity of trialling puberty blockers on 10 YEAR OLD kids who by definition cannot give informed consent to lifelong damage.

Mentally ill or confused kids should get to talk to professionals, not suffer this ghoulish dogmatic abuse.

If John Swinney hasn’t had enough of experts, he should reflect on what Dieter Helm says here about the cost of offshore wind in Scotland. Swinney’s mantra about Scotland’s “low-cost” renewables is simply false. (Note: the wholesale price in electricity bills today is ~£83/MWh.)

The greens aren’t interested in providing power from renewables, they have blocked multiple solar projects. They just want to play politics and stop any progress on transportation, power, housing and most damaging would leave NATO making the UK even move vulnerable

The difference between having a king and a president is this: in theory, the king is accountable to God but is in practice constrained by parliament

In theory the president is accountable to the people but is in practice unconstrained by the constitution

Carl puts his finger on something I've suspected. The British Right is hooked on trying to recapture the thrill of 2016 and 2019 - like how communists were addicted to the thrill of 1917 Petrograd. For both Brexitism and communism, the demonstrable failure of these projects is what has led to this.
In all seriousness, I suspect an aspect of this is a wish to reenact Brexit. If that's right then deep down they actually want to claim implausibly that there's a clever solution to Northern Ireland problems while the world insists (and they themselves on some level know) there isn't.

A "pro-Palestine' march passes me in Bath. Perhaps they're good people, I think to myself. The hippyish Quakers I remember from, say, being a member of Bath CND in the 80s. They're not *necessarily* antisemites, I say. So I check out their X feed. And it's awful.

You know I'm starting to think the US constitution isn't all that great after all, lads

Trying to keep TPUSA together after Kirk's death will prove too difficult. It always does after the loss of a charismatic leader.

The US is now well into its late imperial phase, which will involve an escalating series of humiliations
Seriously this is like the plot from a DC Batman comic

Okay enough. Pure DARVO. Every Sturgeon accusation is projection.

Thank God she's finished, and is off to London to live among her fawning admirers.

Following on from the news that my and Aaron Levene’s long running compilation show, Jew-O-Rama, was being cancelled by Whistlebinkies due to concerns over “staff safety”, yesterday I learnt that my solo show, Shall I Compere Thee in a Funny Way? was being dropped by Banshee Labyrinth.

The Democratic Party’s capitulation to the Crypto lobby is one of the most nakedly corrupt things I’ve seen in my life.

Crypto is a blatant scam with zero value that is designed to end popular control of our currency. Dems just co-signed the next global financial crisis. It’s unforgivable.
The House voted 308 to 122 for the GENIUS Act, the corrupt crypto industry bill to set the stage for the next financial crisis, encourage money laundering, and bless Trump's corruption.

102 Democrats voted yes, including 4 out of the 5 memberships of House Dems's Leadership Team.

Three years of intense lobbying from supporters and opponents of zonal pricing is over. Which camp did the SNP belong to? And why? Did some of the lobbying exaggerate the truth? And does the SNP have a coherent vision for electricity market reform?
Zonal Pricing: What Happened?
Zonal pricing of electricity is not going to happen. At least not any time soon. The UK Government’s decision, part of the Review of Electricity Market Arrangements (REMA) process, which it inherited ...

Good luck America. I have two friends on Medicaid for cancer meds I'm sure they'll be out picking strawberries tomorrow
Brooke Rollins on farm laborers: "There will be no amnesty. The mass deportations continue, but in a strategic way. And we move the workforce toward automation and 100% American participation, which with 34 million able-bodied on Medicaid we should be able to do fairly quickly."
