Imagine a future where you walk into a council chamber, a court, a parliamentary corridor, and the walls are filled with portraits of wāhine Māori, wāhine toa, exactly like this. For Te Whanganui-a-Tara, that future starts now. Ngā mihi nui ki a koe, Tory, for opening that door 💚💚💚
Tonight me and my whānau got to see the official mayoral portrait done by Pōneke artist, Clark Roworth. This felt like a lovely end to this chapter with my mana intact and we will leave behind a progressive long term plan for the next council. I’m proud of of us 💚

Not in my wildest dreams did I think today would have such a happy outcome. Thank you to eveyone who shared, offered ideas, & those eagle eyes that spotted my bike in Newtown & let me know. I'm now utterly elated to be reunited with my bike! Pōneke is a community, & I'm ever grateful for it 💝
