My poor orange sweetheart is not doing well. He isn't getting better but at the moment isn't in urgent decline. His little girlfriends are keeping him comfy in a snuggle sandwich while he rests. Some days he's better than others. Today was an OK #caturday but it sure tired him out 💜

I did an entire paper between Friday and Saturday night while also being at the vet for 3 hours finding out one of my best friends is probably dying and has a huge mass/likely tumor and my boyfriend and I are devastated. Writing about organizational change while taking cry breaks felt impossible.

#edusky I am tired. I'm hitting a wall in this PhD coursework. It's just getting tough and I'm tired and need a break that's not coming until Xmas. The pace of this program is punishing. Back to back to back semesters with 3 weeks off at Xmas for 4.5 years straight and this is year 3.3

As of today I have completed 42 credit hours of my PhD program. I am starting to see glimmers of light at the end of this dark tunnel.

My sunflowers didn't do as well as usual this year but I do have one 16 footer with multiple heads but many of the rest only got half as tall as usual.

My boyfriend has an elaborate DJ set up he hasn't used since moving in which I found out was due to his receiver not working. His bday is the 29th& his gift came today. I love making him happy. I've never taken a bath w the floor shaking from Percolator being played 2 floors down. I love this man❤️

I interviewed from 8 am to 4 pm almost straight and still need 4 paraprofessional a special Ed teacher and an ELA teacher. And there are not nearly enough applicants.

#edusky there something wrong with me? I keep getting asked to be on educational podcasts then get cancelled on the day of after rearranging my life to be available. Literally 4 times in a row this has occurred now. Starting to think there's something wrong with me.

Got to see works from one of my personal heros #FridaKhalo today at the #ArtInstituteChicago and as a bonus got to see an actual handwritten letter she wrote in 1939 in her own penmanship. Moving! Not Fragile like a flower fragile like a bomb. Bonus that Man Ray had a photo in the exhibit.

Summer semester course 1 is finished. Course 2 week 2 starts tomorrow. Let's get through these research courses expeditiously so we can just get this dissertation over with. I'm officially at the 'getting real tired of school' phase of this program with 28 credit hours still to go.

Well looks like these 2 babies we saved are staying for good. They definitely don't seem to mind. Marigold is getting fixed on Monday which should stop her constant sexual harassment of Jack who is wildly disinterested in her shenanigans #caturday
