Folks, all of these executive orders have cost the tax payers *so much money*. Clinical trials tanked because they were stopped. Jobs rescinded after $$ spent for a candidate selection. Conference unattended but paid for @aoc.bsky.social can't we create a real-time waste tracker?

Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.

Evidence has demonstrated this effect in numerous cities now.

I understand why it sounds weird to say, 'building a bunch of fancy new townhouses and skyscrapers will make housing more affordable!' but it simply appears to be true.
So proud of the great work happening in Minneapolis, which shows that boosting housing supply helps make homes more affordable.

Who needs the FDA when you can just start seeing rampant outbreaks of e.coli instead? For those who would blame the FDA for this and say, baby formula contamination, do you also blame firefighters for fires?

When I met the secretary of the Navy, I asked him what is the most important thing we citizens could do, and he said “protect the free press”. He had grown up in Cuba, and knew the aftermath of that loss. Here we are facing this threat directly.

the thing to note about the Elon “Department of Government Efficiency” thing is that the Government Accountability Office already exists and serves this basic function. the problem is that it’s largely serious and nonpartisan. they’re trying to build their own hyper-ideological version of it.
