It was an honour to join the family and loved ones of Damilola Taylor today.

Damilola’s parents, Gloria Taylor and Richard Taylor OBE, are sadly no longer with us. I know how proud they would be to see the positive impact their work is having and will continue to have for generations to come.

Yes, govt bent to pressure from MPs over the benefit cap.

That's how parliamentary democracy works - and why it's a good thing.

It means a leader has to carry a wider movement with them. There's a counter-pressure to the strategists in No. 10.

It matters that we elect a Parliament, not just a PM.

The UK, where the day after a decision to take half a million children out of poverty, the media & political world has been full of sneering at those same children & their families, labelling them as ‘Benefits Street’, while the same people are moaning about a tax on £2m mansions. Shameful stuff.

We must challenge these attacks on free speech and protest.
