In this new article, we examined 52 health conditions and found clear evidence of ongoing disparities in access to medicines.
Racial and ethnic disparities in prescription drug use persist across the U.S., with Black populations experiencing lower prescription drug utilization relative to their disease burden.

Heart wrenching decision, the DHS are an incredibly important data source. They have long been the only option available for studying change over time in individual- or family-level outcomes across Africa. My heart aches for everyone whose research, teaching, and other work depends on them.

Honored to have spent a year working on Guinea Worm Disease in South Sudan (2014-15). With Jimmy Carter’s leadership, cases of this debilitating disease fell from millions a year to just 14 in 2023, thanks to the Carter Center's efforts.
