They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.

More than a decade of work went into making USDS into a team with a good internal culture that did good govtech work collaboratively with agencies. It's not as viscerally inhumane as some of the other EOs, but making USDS a move-fast-break-things org that agencies are forced to kowtow to sucks.
