1. I recommend @aliciaandrz.bsky.social, an awesome Shakespearean scholar down the road at William and Mary. Just finished a book, too!
2. Steak and potatoes. Been one of those weeks already...

(Also starting about three minutes late...)

That brings us tonight's #HATM questions and tonight I want to focus on community so it's an easy couple questions:
1) Who should we be following here on Blue Sky (for whatever reason- it doesn't matter why). Tag them here!
2) And what is on the menu at your home tonight?

Straightening up the classroom, then finishing my second work week in a row under 50 hours. (And everything got done.) We'll see how long I can keep this up.

1. "Treasure Island" with Wallace Beery and Jackie Cooper from 1934. My dad had an old VHS that I wore out...recently wore out the DVD copy I managed to find too. Fortunately it's also on Amazon Prime... :)
2. Pork Chops and roasted potatoes.

That brings us to tonight’s #HATM questions:
1) what movie do you remember most from your childhood?
2) and what is on the menu at your home tonight?

"One night, my granddad had a nightmare, he did. So scared that he chewed his pillow to bits. Bits! Next morning, I says, 'How you feel granddad?' He says, 'Oh, not bad. A little down in the mouth.' *laughs* I always say there's nothing like a good joke!"
"No. And that was nothing like a good joke."

Was looking through my desk for an extra file folder and found the pile of research, blog posts, and assorted drafts I'd written on Cesar Tarrant before the #McMullen2025 paper. Better be careful, or I'll find yet another thread to follow up on...

Another naval history snippet courtesy of John Paul Jones and the Plenary Session of #McMullen2025. OTD in 1779, Officials at the Texel sketched the American flag flying from the frigate Alliance. On the 3rd, they had sketched the flag flying from HMS Serapis, captured by Jones on 23 September.

This is suddenly reminding me of how I discovered the series "The Last Ship" in the midst of Covid. It went off the rails around the third season, but the first two were fairly solid.

Zombie movies aren't usually, my cuppa, but the wife convinced me to see "28 Years Later" with her and was intrigued. She also lets me listen to Aubrey-Maturin audiobooks on car trips which aren't HER cuppa, so it seems fair. :)

1. Rereading "John Paul Jones: Sailor, Hero, Father of the American Navy" by Evan Thomas so a sci-fi club of mine can compare him to John Barry.
2. Grilled burgers and dogs, ice cream for dessert

That brings us to tonight’s questions-
