Just finished this book, which came out last year, a superb and very humanist reimagining of the 12 labors of Heracles. I could not recommend it more. I started my next book and will post a pic of it soon, when I figure out what drink to pair it with.

Our dog Tazz thinks his name is Jesus Christ Tazz, because all day long my wife and I see something he's done that he shouldn't have and go "Jesus Christ, Tazz!" (an old joke but it still amuses me)

I'm an atheist but I have to give props to the two young Mormon guys who came to my door last night around 8.15 pm in the dark in 24 degree temps to try and convert me.

I enjoy sparring with these sorts in a good-natured way, but I would advise future missionaries to wrap it up by 7pm.

My wife and I continue our project of watching relatively recent well-reviewed tv series we never had time to follow while working. Finished "Peaky Blinders" a couple weeks back, amazing series, and started "Orphan Black," which 4 episodes in is pretty good. Currently watching "Superstore,"...

The snow is over here in SW Missouri. Photo on left from yesterday after the first wave, photo on the right today after the second wave and all is past us. Not sure what the official snowfall total will be but some measurements in level areas of my yard come in around 7-8 inches.

Just cleared the porch, sidewalk, and driveway from the first round of snow, maybe 3-4 inches, not too bad. Second round beginning later today, supposed to be heavier.
