'Batsh*t crazy': Democratic representatives sound off on the White House publishing a website about January 6 that calls the insurrectionists “patriots” and blames officers for the violence. @pabloreports.bsky.social reports.

January 6, 2021 was the most shameful day in American history. It should live in infamy. We will never forget it, and we will not let the nation or the world forget — despite the revisionism of Trump and his lackeys in the Republican Party.

Trump’s greedy, money-grubbing, donor buddies are the only people saying the oil beneath Venezuela is “Ours”

That’s where he gets this particular lie

Trump wants US oil companies in Venezuela. Here's what to know. Oil companies have been bruised by past experiences in the country. The global market is facing an oversupply. Prices are below $60 a barrel, and long-term demand is unclear. And ultimately it's unclear who is in charge in Venezuela.

(NYTimes: FREE) A super fine piece by Nick Kristof, please make time to read. Firsthand observations by Nick of Venezuela, including his time there and his views on what Trump's invasion might lead to. Really quite a helpful view and set of opinions.

Let's be honest: Nicolás Maduro could only *aspire* to lie about elections and commit crimes as often as Donald J. Trump.

The Epstein Files Transparency Act is a law, passed by Congress on November 19 with an overwhelming vote. Complying with it was not optional. The Department of Justice did not comply.

I want to make sure this is very clear.

Trump says we need to go after drug cartels.

Meanwhile, he disbanded a DOJ task force that took them on.

And he pardoned a former Honduran president convicted of drug trafficking.

Trump doesn't care about drugs — he wants to be able to declare war on anyone he labels an enemy.

It's a power grab.

Donald Trump cannot be trusted to lead America into war. He is unaccountable to America. He is lawless. He only seeks conflict to cover up for his failures. Congress must step up and reassert its power. No more forever wars.

Marco Rubio is reportedly saying Maduro will stand trial in US courts.

Which means it’s now the US administration’s position that US courts can hold foreign presidents, but not the US president, accountable for crimes.

It's an old and obvious pattern. An unpopular president - failing on the economy and losing his grip on power at home - decides to launch a war for regime change abroad.

The American people don’t want to “run” a foreign country while our leaders fail to improve life in this one.

The top 10% of richest Americans own 87% of stocks.

The top 1% alone own roughly half of all stocks.

It's worth pointing out once again that the stock market is not the economy.
