Ordered a game in mint condition and had to return it, would have been nice if I had at least received a cartridge 😂

Lily has somehow mastered being right in the middle of avoiding electronics successfully while also laying down right next to her comfy bed.

This part of emulating Luigi's Mansion is hilarious to me. I have no doubt this looked best on a CRT, but seeing it here... Yep, that's really just a high quality scan of a Game Boy Color that they threw into a major mechanic of the game 😂

Update - Yeah, no, these things are purposely annoying.

Just repasted my own laptop. Using no instructions and only a standard screwdriver bit, I was able to get to the chips within 5 minutes.

I've been refurbishing my girlfriend's MacBook Pro the last couple days and can confirm that I don't like working on MacBooks.

I can do it, but they're annoying.

PS addressed the CBOMB when we raised the issue. They are now acting on the detachable disc drive issue. Nintendo finally offers more card sizes. Some physical games were only made due to public demand. Don't let anyone ever tell you that you don't have a voice as customers!

Built a new PC for a family member recently.

That same family member thanked me for Windows 11.

This might be the only time anyone has ever thanked anyone else for Windows 11.

I very rarely post stream of conscious doom and gloom on here, but it's way too depressing to see something I love turn into this in real time as I see the news every single day.

If folks think I'm being too hyperbolic, I would love nothing more than to be proven wrong here.

Unless something drastically changes, I really believe the era of affordable, local, offline compute power will be over.

The future push will be affordable, low-powered machines. Any compute resources will require external services, storage on cloud, all subscription based.

"Nope." Was my answer, as my old build was from 2016 and had been really showing its age for several years.

I'm happy I ended up pulling the trigger then, because what we're seeing right now and what's to come? I hate it and I feel for anyone who desperately needs an upgrade.

Earlier this year I built a new PC instead of waiting for a potential price drop of parts in Q4. When I was running it by a friend, I had been hesitant for so long but he asked "If you're priced out of building a new PC, are you okay being stuck with your old one?"
