A bit of personal growth news.

Instead of always sticking to the same things, I'm going to branch out and try a bit of variation.

So I didn't buy the same crisps toys week and instead I'm going to try out all the different Christmas flavours.

Great comment. If we don't win the title but we're in better shape next for season then that's fine. The team needed quite a few changes so there's no need to panic.

Lifted from my comment on the Athletic site, couldn’t be arsed typing it out again.

Just one of those games for Liverpool. Didn't play well but also nothing went right. I'm going to console myself by watching the Kenny Dalglish documentary.

I'm listening to all the Beatles' solo albums in order. Observations so far:
- George was desperate to get songs out so All Things Must Pass is too long
- the Yoko stuff on Sometime in NYC is insufferable
- Ringo's Goodnight Vienna album sounds like a compilation of 70s TV theme tunes

Celebrity Traitors was brilliant. Loads of great characters and fun, although I prefer the peril of the normal series.

If I could go back in time, I'd tell my 18 year old self to keep all my fleeces, baggy jeans and checked shirts. I wouldn't have to buy any clothes now.

A comfortable Liverpool win? It's been a while.

I don't really give a shit if someone's a prince or a king or something because titles mean nothing to me. What I care about is justice, and getting stripped of a title that gets certain privileges is a form of it so I applaud it. Even if it's still not enough.

Stayed up till 1am playing Rome Total War last night despite knowing the kids would be awake at 6. Idiot.

Silver lining: Asterix and his mates took a total beating.

Transferred Van de Ven out for Reece James this week. Better decision making that Slot that is. #fpl

Needed an early night last night but instead watched Starship Troopers. Couldn't help myself, it's such a great film.

Or Starmer could, and this is a wild idea, focus on the plight of desperate refugees and not engage with the 'stop the boats' bullshit.

Such a shit result to lose at home to Man Utd. But... We create so many chances in every game, we're just not finishing them and properly clicking. That'll come but the defensive frailties look like they'll still be there. Bit of a concern.

Union and St George's flags have appeared down my street. The losers are still going I see.

Great read. So much more hope with Southend these days. As the piece says, it's great that fans can worry about normal things again. Now it's moaning about results rather than whether the club will exist in a week.
Southend United and Scunthorpe United were both almost destroyed by their former owners. Now, in non-league, new life and new hope.

I went to watch a resurrection derby to tell their stories and show why being saved matters so much.

Southend and Scunthorpe: phoenixes from the football 'bin fire'
Six years ago, Southend and Scunthorpe met in League One. Now they meet again in very different circumstances. Daniel Storey went along to tell their stories

@didau.bsky.social hi David, I've got a question about marking for SPaG research. I was wondering if I could message you about it.

Just catching up on Traitors and I'm glad to say I knew how many characters die in Romeo and Juliet and Hamlet. Justifying being an English teacher.

What's annoying about this is this need to have everything all of the time. Like, instead of growing the economy in other, more sustainable ways, we just resort to opening up everything 24/7. Whereas it's actually ok and beneficial to be restricted in certain ways. It creates a want for that thing.
Nothing says "functioning economy" like everyone turning up for work pissed

I feel as sorry for him as I did for an ex-girlfriend who after dumping me said it was really difficult for her to deal with.
Jordan Henderson has revealed he felt unable to watch Liverpool games on television after leaving the club in 2023.

“It felt like a breakup,” he explained.
