The announcement that the Oscars will have a “Best Stunt Design” category starting in 2027 is pretty awesome news. Not too long ago, I interviewed stunt performer Natascha Hopkins, who detailed her experiences doing stunt work and the trials stunt performers go through.

Regarding Robert Eggers' Nosferatu, the moment they recreated the original's iconic climatic shadow scene, in which Count Orlok creeps through Ellen's home in a reimagined, haunting way, was a chilling recent moviegoing memory that will stay with me.

Gerald Kargl's Angst is one of the most frightening films I've ever seen. It takes viewers into the horrifying perspective of a deranged psychopath, catapulted by mesmerizing cinematography, an eerie music score by Klaus Schulze, and a chilling performance from Erwin Leder.
