Tuberville saying that he supports the bill to release the Epstein Files. Trump says he will sign it.

Does anybody doubt that both have been assured that anything implicating trump in statutory rape or any other crime has been removed and will remain forever hidden?

The "A" part of AI is pretty obvious. The "I" part not quite so much. Great (mostly) for scientific research. Doing tasks such as testing hypotheses that may require thousands, if not millions, or iterations.

With human interactions it has a long way to go.

As a distraction, Trump's sacking of folks from the Fed Board, Surface Transportation Board, CDC, and others is working like a charm.

It's been a week since I've seen or heard anything about the Epstein scandal. The media just LOVES to chase shiny objects.

Keep your eyes on the ball, media.

When will Trump issue an Executive Order declaring that, henceforth, the sun will rise in the west and set in the east. Or repealing the law of gravity. Or making it a crime for anyone but the New York Yankees to be MLB's champion. All of which make as much sense as those he's issued lately.

MAGAs are so quick to take a righteous tone as they accuse high profile opponents (Adam Schiff, Letitia James, and Lisa Cook) of technical violations of mortgage fraud.

Do they realize how quickly that can be turned against THEM? Once Dems gain power, it's a great tool for going after Repubs.

I've been saying for years that the Dems needed to stop engaging in unilateral disarmament when it comes to redistricting around the country. Congratulations, Democrats and Dem Party leaders for jumping aboard that train.

My only question is, "What the he** took you so long?"

I wish the media would stop allowing Trump to get away with this "some country is going to pay an "X"%" tariff nonsense.

No country is going to pay anything. A few of their businesses may eat a little of it temporarily, but not much and not for long. AMERICAN businesses and consumers pay.

Job numbers + other economic statistics indicate a weak economy. So what does tRump do? Fires the BLS chief. Yikes!!

"Bring me statistics I like, " yells the king.

Interestingly, if he wants rate cuts, those weak stats bolster his case. Chance of September rate cut went up to over 80%.

If Trump had sex with underage females, they're likely still out there and could testify to that fact. I understand the risk they would be taking. Still surprises me that none have come forward. It would only take one to end his presidency. Shouldn't some reporter be trying to find them?

Does anybody else think that this on-again-off-again bromance between Trump and Musk is nothing but a way of distracting people--and especially the gullible media--from focusing attention on the substance of the "Big Horrible Bill?"
July 1, 2025 at 7:13 PM
According to Leigh Ann Caldwell, 49% of people on Medicaid voted for Trump, while 47% voted for Harris. Given those stats, it's hard to have much sympathy for those among that 49% who lose their health insurance.

It's just too bad that their poor choices have an impact on so many others.

When Dems next get the trifecta, they first must fix structural problems before they can implement policy changes. Otherwise the SC will declare their legislative changes unconstitutional.

1. Expand the SC.
2. Make DC and PR states, so that Dems aren't always on the edge of being a minority.
June 30, 2025 at 7:12 AM
When Dems get the trifecta, kill the filibuster for SC purposes. Expand the court to 17, with each case heard by nine selected through a computer random number generator. That will partly reduce importance of each Justice. Should be part of a larger Judicial branch update and reorganization.

This new (supposed) cease fire between Israel and Iran will last two weeks. Or 90 days. Or forever. One of the three.

Mainstream media admits that tRump is escalating things in LA to divert attention from his various problems. So what does MM do--it covers this thing 24/7. Hey MM, here's an idea: try spending only 10-20% of your time on this. You can still show us everything that's of real importance in LA.

Trump and his cohorts have every reason to minimize the CPI numbers and overstate the number of jobs created. They've said that if they don't like economic statistics, they'll just change them How can we believe what comes out of this administration? Even the venerable BLS is compromised.
June 6, 2025 at 5:57 PM
Commentators on MSNBC, CNN, and others in the mainstream media need to stop using Trump's framing of the budget bill as the "Big Beautiful Bill." Don't use his terminology.

It's the Reconciliation Bill. That's the proper framing and that's how those discussing it should refer to it.

Why would anybody hire a law firm like Paul, Weiss or Milbank? If they don't have enough courage to stand up for themselves, it isn't likely that they can they be trusted to fight for their clients when someone turns up the pressure.

Chuck Schumer does it again! Senate Dems score another own goal, benefiting the Trumpublicans. Weak leadership -- if one can call it "leadership" at all. Time for a more aggressive Dem to take over the helm in the Senate.

"The Art of the Deal?" The Bronze Booby is terrible at it. Any halfway decent negotiator knows not to let his own ego become the focus of the negotiation. Millions of Zelenskyy's people have been killed, injured, or displaced. Who cares how "grateful" he is. Not the issue.
