This meeting was hardly a surprise, but that didn’t mean he couldn’t revel in the triumph of it either. Declan O’Hara—one of the most pig-headed men Rupert knew as well as the head of the rival O’Hara family—sat in one of the terribly uncomfortable chairs in front of Rupert’s desk, barely managing to keep still, his rage and frustration clear in his expression. He was charming and ruthless and relentless and often greedy, but never good. This time, his greed wasn’t for money or power or territory or anything of the sort, but for a woman. That in and of itself wasn’t so surprising. He was well known for sharing his bed—or couch or closet or counter or wherever was most convenient at the time—with any number of beautiful women. There was something…different about Taggie O’Hara. Something that made him want to keep her. “So,” Rupert drawled as the silence stretched on, thick and charged, “I was thinking a spring wedding would be lovely.”

Luda was at a work conference and hated being so far from her loves. She would be home in a couple of days though, a bright marker in an interesting but exhausting week. “I have something to tell you.” The fact that Alina was keeping something she wanted to share inside hadn’t completely escaped Luda. It was better to let Alina share things in her own time, so Luda hadn’t pressed. “Is something wrong?” she asked, her brows furrowing. If anything had been terribly wrong, Alina wouldn’t have waited, but she wasn’t entirely settled about whatever this was either. Alina shook her head. “Not wrong, just…unexpected.” Luda waited for Alina to continue. Several beats passed before Alina spoke. “Sasha doesn’t know what sex is.” Luda blinked a couple of times as she processed the words. “What?” It had been clear that he was a virgin—he hadn’t even kissed anyone before them. But being inexperienced and completely lacking knowledge were two very different things. “Well, he does now,” Alina said, running her hand down her face. “Did you two sleep together?” There wasn’t any jealousy running through her, only concern. If things had escalated between Alina and Sasha when he didn’t understand what was going on and she didn’t know he didn’t know— Alina shook her head. “No, although he’s interested in trying things once you get back. We fooled around a little, but we talked first.” Luda couldn’t help but giggle at the thought. “How awkward was the sex talk?” Alina groaned. “Less awkward and more just…not successful? I don’t think I explained it very well. So I showed him porn.” Luda’s eyes widened. “What?” A visual demonstration would likely be helpful, but porn probably wasn’t a good basis for learning much about sex. “It was an amateur video, super vanilla and very romantic and soft, don’t worry,” Alina said, rushing to reassure her. “It’s not like I was going to show him anything super kinky or unrealistic.” “What did he think?” Alina’s answering smile, full of heat and affection, brought up fantasies of the two of them with Aleksander that had been in Luda’s mind for a while. “It helped him understand better, I think, although the hand job I gave him after really brought the information home, I think. That and showing him how to finger me. He’s a very quick learner.”
