I stumbled upon “In Shock” by Rana after my septic shock debacle (better than What Mr MM calls it) and it spoke to me on a level that I couldn’t explain. I tell everyone about her story. And remind people to stop dehumanizing patients, stop and listen. But what happens after the shock.
That’s this whole book… how do we trust enough to go back in? It’s a lot ❤️🩹

So 13 doesn’t want me to know her type of fanfic she reads. Me: you’ve seen my kindle books. Her: yeah dad calls it smut. Me: I prefer trashy smut/romance/bodice rippers. All genres. Her: I try not to open the kindle app at school because of this. Amazon needs a way for me to prevent this.

Happy Nurses Week! I have been a nurse for over 20 years I still think it was the best choice for me. Now as a FNP I bring all those figure it out skills to my patients.
Nurses - will figure it out. I used to say I will go to you, I will go around you, I will go through you to help my patient.

1. I think it's amazing.
2. I can only watch it in small bites because one episode had at least 3 or 4 things that I've seen IRL...

So today I had my mammogram - annual.
I had my annual CBC, CMP, and TSH... my kidneys remain happy, my platelets while not plentiful are present and above any worrisome number.. and my TSH... well I likely need to decrease the dose again as I continue to lose weight.

A) np one really warned him that I’m a lot.
B) he said what I hear is you need connections & that you’d be amazing at primary care. Me- nope. Not what you hear. You hear someone who likes to provide comprehensive care and be a part of a team.

So anyone have a great planner that they love & find functional & actually works. Juggling work, grad school, 3 kids, a husband & a mom w dementia is a lot... and well I put a lot of things in my phone, but sometimes I just have random bits of paper & am like OOOOHHH yeah... I meant to do that.
Okay ortho spine/neurosurgery peeps- I’m likely going to be getting an MRI of my neck soon. Currently doing PT. But not really improving- week6. If I need further eval would you recommend an ortho w a spine fellowship or a neurosurgeon.

23 years ago I drove to Detroit to a testing site in a not great neighborhood for a 7:30 a.m. testing spot... and the test shut off at 75 questions.
I then panicked... I must have failed. I couldn't have passed.
2 days later my results were in and I was licensed as a Registered Nurse.

I'm making no bake cookies, peanut butter blossoms, chocolate chip cookies, and a vegan tiramisu over the next couple days. And it's not complete stress baking. It's because I love to bake. Semester is done - all A's in my 2 classes. I will be off from 12/23-12/26.
