Eating lunch at the in-laws yesterday. I totally misunderstood the workings of the salt shaker and ended up with a small mountain on my quiche. Quietly ate the lot without complaint or attention. I am my own worst enemy.

Took delivery of a large item of furniture. The delivery guy helpfully struggled to place it in the garage. As he was driving away, I realised it wasn’t in the right place & I can’t shut the door, but rather than him know this, I just pretended to pick up leaves from the path, until he drove away.

Stupidest relationship red flags that should have alerted you to a wrong ‘un - go!
I once had a boyfriend who would eat a chocolate from a shared box and then PUT THE EMPTY WRAPPER BACK IN THE BOX, so the next person reaching for a Snickers or whatever would just get disappointment.

Heart stop moment walking through the park. 2 lads playing football & the ball comes hurtling towards me, I find my ancient body shifting gears & my brain is shouting, “WTF are you doing, you’ll fuck this up!!” but my foot connects with the ball, & with a satisfying thwack I kick it back with gusto.

Feeling much better today. Been to my favourite Salisbury haunts, Fisherton Gallery & shop, the thrift stores and the haberdashers. Had good coffee and cake, and now chilling in the cathedral grounds.

I have a week off, solo, to catch up with art and get outside and walk walk walk. But I’ve picked up a merciless cold that’s holding me hostage, on a sofa, with blankets, tea and paracetamol. Pity party for one.
