Every time I heard "how can the world allow something like the holocaust to happen", I am like: but the world didn't.

The world was occupied by White western powers. We had no say in this at all.

This was all white people.

They allowed it to happen.

They are the only ones who did.

Expect those numbers to rise the moment the ceasefire is set and Journalists and International observers can access Ghaza again.

What will be uncovered..will haunt y'all for years.
Epidemiologists at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine "concluded that the death toll from Israel’s aerial bombardment & military ground operation in Gaza between Oct 2023 & the end of June 2024 was about 64,300, rather than the 37,900 reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health."
Estimated Gaza Toll May Have Missed 25,000 Deaths, Study Says
Analysis found that more than 64,000 Palestinians may have been killed by traumatic injury in the first nine months of the war.

I don't buy for a second that "white people" were "fooled" by the Israeli "we just want to bring the hostages home" narrative.

White people are not stupid.

THEY SUPPORTED A GENOCIDE FOR A YEAR.

That is not white people being fooled.

That's white people being on brand.

You think if Democratic leadership knew that losing the election might lead to a ceasefire in Gaza, then maybe they would have fought harder to win?

All them Arab Children NO LONGER getting burned alive... must turn their stomachs.

If you took the most vulgar, simplistic analysis from the very beginning — that Netanyahu was intent on genocide and would pursue it until he was forced to stop by the U.S. — you’d have been precisely correct.

Blinken is a deeply unserious person. He will be saying we are waiting on Hamas to accept the terms long after it’s already been signed. He is just a straight up liar.

Iranian toman is 80,000 now to the US dollar.

I remember when it was 800 when I moved to Iran in 1999.

Iranians can’t live under these circumstances.

If you want some quality S Korea content we actually published this incredible piece a few days ago about the endemic porn deepfakes and the political battle around them that show entrenched misogyny in the country, in @newlinesmag.bsky.social newlinesmag.com/reportage/th...
The Gendered Battle Over Digital Sexual Abuse in South Korea
Despite the country’s trailblazing laws, campaigners say more is needed to tackle the causes of a recent spate of pornographic deepfakes aiming to humiliate women and girls

let's play the Korean President Fates Bingo.

What will happen to President Yoon after he declared martial law?

Well, if the fates of any of the previous South Korea Presidents- with notable exception of President Moon- is any indication, it will be some seriously dark fate.

Fun Facts about President Yoon:

- He ran & won on abolishing the Ministry of Gender equality & Family for daring to propose a law that updated the legal 70 year old definition of sexual assaults.

- He actually abolished the ministry.

Of the 2 Koreas, South Korea is the one I find truly scary and frightening.

It looks civilized & cute, but it's really a psychotic right-wing patriarchal society that is literally more concerned with protecting pedos & rapists than their victims, while smearing innocents to suicide.

A rare piece of good news from Iran. Toomaj Salehi, an Iranian rapper who had supported the Woman Life Freedom movement in Iran, and who was previously sentenced to death as a result of his activism, has been released after serving one year in prison.

Questions:
How does one send the editor of a prestigious online publication a pitch for an article that argues the exact opposite of an embarrassingly badly researched article that they published a few weeks ago, and written by one of their editors?

PS: And like, not sound like an asshole?

PS:

Husam was suspected of being a "terrorist" by the Alewite regime, by virtue of being born in a Sunni-family.

He was also sent to the frontline, because that's their policy with Sunni conscripts= be canon fodder & die.

It's why they wanted to send him back there after the hospital.

Can't call him a felon...they dropped all charges and convictions. It's done.

It's the Trolley Dilemma on steroids..
You got 10,000 refugees, amongst which 5 are dangerous sociopaths, killers or rapists.

Statistical reality: there is 0.05% of them are dangerous= negligible. Punish 9995 for 5?

Real-Life Incidents: Tell that to the 5 who wouldn't have been raped or killed if u didn't let them in.

Can't be won.
