Aaah, #GeorgeRomero's Monkey Shines. What I love about this film is that Romero makes the lead disabled character completely, realistically human. No 'noble suffering' for this guy. He's pissed off about being quadraplegic after an accident. He even wants to die. www.youtube.com/watch?v=HD8T...

#DrJekyllandMrHyde (1931) #coercivecontrol #abuse It's astonishing that a film made as relatively early as this is in the sound era completely nails the complexities of domestic violence. This scene could have been written yesterday. Despite the fantastical element it's completely emotionally real.
