Potential is invisible.

Sometimes friendship is just seeing something the world can't see yet.

Today I learned:

People in the 'just here for friends' section of Raya don't want to be friends.

Just in case you needed someone to remind you:

Listen to YOURSELF. Sing YOUR SONG, and no one else's. Yours is a song worth singing!

I am one of the authors whom Meta stole (sorry, ‘scraped’) from, by using their books to train Libgen. So I’m biased. But this from @mscaitlinmoran.bsky.social is👌

There were days in my childhood when life wasn't pleasant or easy. Libraries were my refuge and safe space when there was no other place in the world like that for me. I bet I'm not alone in that.

Imagine a wealthy, powerful society that defunds its libraries and museums.

The Trump administration, with Elon Musk’s so-called Department of Government Efficiency, has gutted a small federal agency that provides funding to libraries and museums nationwide.

This threatens student field trips, classes for seniors, and access to digital library services.
The DOGE Axe Comes for Libraries and Museums
The Institute of Museum and Library Services has long received bipartisan support. But after years of trying, President Donald Trump has delivered it a crushing blow.

What you're feeling has a name.

Anomy.

Reclaim yourself: hold to your values. Move mindfully, act gratefully, gracefully, deliberately with those you love. Recalibrate your relationships. Right now, humility, generosity, love and respect are potent forms of resistance. Be gentle, Human.

I love this way of seeing things. Here's to awe and joy!
What I learned while dipping my toes in public history is what I knew all along.

We’re all tired, but we like to learn things. We don’t have time for the deep dives, but we’d like to experience the awe and joy.

It’s how I feel about whales, the deep ocean, particle physics, and space.

Meet Ea-Nasir, a shady ancient merchant—and modern meme
“I shall inflict grief on you!” is just one of the threats irate customers directed at Ea-nāṣir, a shady copper merchant who operated in Mesopotamia some 4,000 years ago.
